Pierre's passion and love for the guitar spans over 20 years, he started playing Flamenco guitar at the age of 18 and was inspired by Gipsy Kings and Paco de Lucia.
He studied Classical Music with Mr Neiffer van der Schyff (UCT) and also did Jazz workshops with Mr. Elvin Diaz. Pierre played at various venues- Fancourt, Mount Nelson, Cantina Tequila with the band, Young Flamencos. He has studied sound engineering which enables him to create his own compositions. His absolute passion is Nouveau Flamenco which is a fusion with African drums, the eastern Tabla and Daburka and this gives his compositions a unique flair. Pierre has been playing with Nizaar Allie for over 15 years and they both have a strong passion and dedication for Flamenco music.
Nizaar started playing the guitar at the age of 16. He comes from an amazingly-talented, musical family, his father - Armien Allie- accompanied the famous, Greek singer, Nana Mouskouri, in the 80's. His uncle, Youssi Allie, was also a lead guitarist in the 70's. They inspired Nizaar to play the guitar and also influenced his style of playing.
At 21 he studied music at the University of Western Cape. He enjoys Classical, Spanish, Greek and Latin music. Nizaar played for the group The Continental Strings and performed various solo pieces on the guitar and mandolin. He played with the group Young Flamencos and this is where he met Pierre Fourie and the association sparked the fusion of amazing talent. They are both passionate about Nouveau Flamenco, fusing Flamenco with African and Eastern beats.
